Annual Account Fee
For Airpoints™ members who have not flown on a paid Air New Zealand flight for 12 months, an annual account fee of $30 will be charged. This fee will be reduced to $20 if you opt to receive your Airpoints newsletter, Highpoints, by email, and choose not to receive posted statements. To make these changes, simply login to 'My Account' and go to the Communication Preferences page under My Profile. Or, if you've not logged in before, register now.
Please note that if we have previously received returned mail from the address in your Airpoints account and this address has not been updated you will not be sent an Annual Account Fee notification. In these instances the Annual Account Fee will be automatically deducted from your Airpoints account at your joining date anniversary.
Ways to Avoid the Annual Account Fee
- Always provide your Airpoints membership number when booking an Air New Zealand flight, even on our Smart Saver fares. Although our lowest fares won't earn you Airpoints Dollars, they will exempt you from the annual account fee.
- If you have flown on an Air New Zealand operated flight in the last 6 months but forgot to give us your Airpoints details, you can use the Claim Missing Airpoints Dollars form to let us know. Just
login to 'My Account' and go to Claim Missing Airpoints Dollars under My Account. Or, if you've not logged in before, register now.
- If you have transferred reward points from ANZ Rewards Visa, ANZ Rewards Business One, Westpac Altitude Rewards, BankWest extra Visa, Diners Club Rewards Australia, Bendigo Bank or Heritage Bank and earned at least
50 in a single transaction, you will be exempt from paying the annual account fee. The terms and conditions of our partners reward schemes apply.
