Now even Smart Saver and grabaseat fares earn Status Points, helping you reach a higher tier status faster. Once you've reached Silver, Gold or Gold Elite status, you'll enjoy a range of exclusive benefits and privileges whenever you travel with Air New Zealand or our Star Alliance partners.
How We Work Out Your Status Points
You only earn Status Points by flying, but you can earn them on every Air New Zealand Flight*, as well as many flights with our Star Alliance partners.
For Australian members, Status Points will be worked out a little differently to what you may be used to. You will continue to earn Airpoints Dollars in exactly the same way you have done previously, however Status Points will be earned at a slightly different rate. Status Points are universal, and all our members earn them at the same rate; check out our Status Points accrual table for all the details.
Because all our members now earn Status Points at the same rate, the amount of Status Points needed to upgrade in status and retain status is also now global.
