1. Information about its customers who are identifiable individuals ("personal information") is collected and stored by Air New Zealand or its agent/s only for the purpose of providing those customers to whom it relates with the services and/or facilities they have requested or consented to being supplied by or through Air New Zealand and to improve or enhance services an/or facilities provided by or on behalf of Air New Zealand ("the requested services"), in accordance with the New Zealand and Australian Privacy Acts.
2. Personal information is stored securely by Air New Zealand or its agent/s and is protected against misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
3. Personal information is only accessed by authorised persons and is used and/or disclosed only for the purpose of providing customers with the requested services or for related purposes, including direct marketing (if the customer concerned has consented to this use), or otherwise in accordance with the applicable Privacy Act.
4. You may obtain details of personal information held about you by Air New Zealand or its agent/s and request corrections be made to the information on written application to Air New Zealand's Customer Relations Department, Private Bag 92007, Auckland, New Zealand, Fax 64-9-336-3966, unless particular circumstances apply that allow us to limit the extent to which we give you access - these include emergency situations, specified business imperatives and law enforcement or other public interests. 5. Personal information is retained by Air New Zealand or its disclosed agent/s only for such time as is necessary for us to provide the requested services You may require us to delete the information we hold about you at any time. However, if this occurs we may not be able to provide you with any of the requested services.
6. We may transfer your personal information overseas to other parties if you have requested their provision of services through us, provided:
- the information will be subject to principles of fair handling substantially similar to those in the in the Privacy Acts; or
- you consent to the transfer; or
- we deem it necessary in order to perform a contract in your interest between us and a third party; or
- the transfer is for your benefit and it is impracticable for us to obtain your consent, or
- if it were practicable, you would be likely to agree; or
- we have taken reasonable steps to ensure your personal information will not be held, or used, or disclosed inconsistently with the privacy principles in the Privacy Acts.
